Do you know God "Personally"?

Is it even possible to know God personally?

Everyone can understand who God is. He hard-wired it into us as humans. Romans 1:20 says, “For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature so, they have no excuse for not knowing God.”

Does God know who I am? Do I even matter to God? The world seems so say God doesn’t care about me.

The Bible teaches that God loves you – John 3:16 says, “God so loved you that He gave his only Son that whoever believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life!”

1 Timothy 2:3-4 says, “God our Savior, who wants everyone to be saved and to understand the truth”. So yes, God wants you to know Him personally.

The Problem is us, not God...

We are separated from God because of OUR sin.

Sin separates us from God – Romans 3:23 says,

“everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard.”

Isaiah 59:2 says, “It’s your sins that have cut you off from God."

Our sin causes us to miss out on God’s very best for us AND we must face death and judgement.

Jesus Himself said in John 10:10 that “My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life.”

The Bible also teaches that Romans 6:23 says, “the wages of sin is death...” and

II Thessalonians 1:9 says, “They will be punished with eternal destruction, forever separated from the Lord and from his glorious power.”

What’s the solution for OUR sin separating us from God?

JESUS is the ONLY answer!

Jesus died and conquered death for us! Jesus died a substitutionary death for us so we wouldn't have to.

1 Peter 3:18 says, “Christ suffered for our sins once for all time". He never sinned, but he died for sinners to bring you safely home to God. He suffered physical death, but he was raised to life in the Spirit.

Romans 5:8 says, “But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.”

1 Timothy 2:5-6 says, “For there is one God and one Mediator who can reconcile God and humanity—the man Christ Jesus. He gave his life to purchase freedom for everyone!”

What must I do to receive God’s gift of Eternal Salvation?

Admit – acknowledge you need forgiveness for your sins. Then admit to yourself and God that you have sinned, and you want forgiveness. – 1 John 8:9-10 says, “If we claim we have no sin, we are only fooling ourselves and not living in the truth. But if we confess our sins to Him, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness.”

Believe – believe Jesus Christ died for your sins, was buried, rose again on the third day, conquering death, to be your Savior, providing forgiveness for your sins. – 1 Corinthians 15:3-4 says, “Christ died for our sins, just as the Scriptures said. He was buried, and he was raised from the dead on the third day.”

Confess– Confess with your mouth - Romans 10:9-10 says, “If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved.”

Repent and be Baptized – now that you’ve confessed your sins before God, admitted you need forgiveness, believe in your heart that Jesus Christ died for you and confessed with your mouth that Jesus is your one and only Savior, you MUST turn away from your sin. Acts 2:38 says, “Each of you must repent of your sins and turn to God and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins.”

And the result of your decision is…

Eternal life with no separation for God! No eternal punishment for your sins!

Ephesians 2:8 says, “God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God.”

Jesus Himself said in John 5:24, “I tell you the truth, those who listen to my message and believes in God who sent me have eternal life. They will never be condemned for their sins, but they have already passed from death into life.”

Are you ready to accept Jesus as you Savior and turn away from your sins?

You can receive Christ right now through FAITH and REPENTANCE alone. You MUST do BOTH.

The following is a suggested prayer between you and God. If this expresses the desire of your heart, you can pray this right now and Jesus will come into your life and save you like He promised.

Father in Heaven, I admit I have sinned against you, and I need your forgiveness today. I believe by FAITH that you died for me and my sins, you were buried, rose from the dead and conquered sin and death. Father in Heaven I REPENT from my sins, I turn away from my sins and I turn toward you. I surrender my life to you today. Please save me today, Lord Jesus, forgive my sins and change my life forever. Use me Lord Jesus for your glory. In Jesus name I pray, amen.

What’s Next?

If you prayed that prayer, meant it and will turn away from your sin CONGRATULATIONS!!! You're now a child of God!

So, what happens now that I've asked Jesus to be my savior? Here are a few things the Bible promises...
